Tonight I’m packing my bags and getting ready to head to New York City for Book Expo America, the biggest publishing industry conference in North America. It’s a book lover’s Mecca, and I’m looking forward to meeting some fantastic authors and bloggers. Garth Nix is gonna be there, as well as John Scalzi, and I can’t wait!
When I went to Book Expo for the first time in 2012, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I had a loose plan, but I was clueless. There are a lot of things that I know now that I didn’t know then, and I’m looking forward to a much more rewarding trip this year. One big difference is that the last time I went to Book Expo, I didn’t have a smartphone, so was missing out on everything that was happening on Twitter. This time, I plan on live-tweeting the conference, although I expect to spend more time in the exhibit hall than in any conference sessions. I’ll be tweeting from @BookWithoutPics, and you’re welcome to follow along and/or let me know if you’re there and would like to meet up.
In 2012, I posted updates at the end of each day about the conference. I’m going to try to do that again this year, although that’s entirely dependent on evening activities.
Mischief and mayhem await!
